Summer Adventure at Stockeld Park

A major new visitor attraction is set to open its doors this July at the famous Stockeld Park.

The new Summer Adventure will include an outdoor retro roller rink with roller disco every Saturday night, huge Yew tree maze, go kart track, one of the UK’s biggest jumping pillows, custom made slide, and electric scooters for hire through the interactive Enchanted Forest.

A host of indoor games, play and crafts will also be launched so rainy days are covered at the attraction between Leeds and Harrogate.

Due to the success of the Halloween and Christmas Adventures, a significant investment has been made to transform the rural estate for the Summer Adventure, set to open between 20th July and 1st September.

The new attraction will also create around 40 jobs, helping support the local economy.

This is the first time ever that the estate will open its doors during the summer – complete with a host of major new adventure play and experiences.

Peter Grant, owner of Stockeld Park, said: “Following site improvements in 2012 we’ve expanded further in preparation for the Summer Adventure opening, which will provide a unique summer day out for families. It’s been a long time in the planning stages and we’ve created amazing features within our parkland and woodland and can’t wait to welcome families to experience it for themselves. This will also create jobs and make a larger contribution to the local and regional tourism offer.”

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, added: “It’s always exciting to welcome a new addition to the Yorkshire tourism family, and this promises to offer something unique for groups and families alike. It will also help boost the tourism economy and create jobs, which is great news.”

The star of the show is set to be the magical Enchanted Forest, a unique interactive adventure through the ancient woodland of Stockeld Park. Hire an electric scooter to take you through the Forest on three wheels! Or make your way on foot and climb, scramble and play as you explore the Enchanted Forest and discover new sculptures and installations.

The Magical Gift Emporium is stocked with toys and treats, ice creams and sweets and families can re-fuel at the woodland cafe or with your own picnic in the parkland.

100% of the profits are re-invested into the business, which brings new trade, tourism and employment into the areas in and around Harrogate, Leeds and York.

Let your imagination guide you for a truly magical summer at Stockeld Park.
